At Careers United, we understand that many houseless people feel like there is no support or grace for them. And to a certain degree, that's true. The government and local communities are only able to help so much.
We learned through speaking with caseworkers that a lot of houseless people are in dire need of support in more social-based aspects rather than physical needs. We learned that many feel directionless and lost when it comes to finding a job and many don't know where to start in the job search process. On top of that, if someone was disabled or formerly incarcerated, that can add to feelings of dejection and depression.
